Did you know you could use Pancake Mix for pizza crust? Me either! I had to try it this recipe, and it worked out fabulously! This super easy pizza uses pancake mix for the dough and you don’t even need yeast, you’ll have dinner ready in under 45 min!

Ingredients for Pizza sauce

-4 tbs marinara sauce

-2 tbs Ketchup

-1/2 tbs oregano

-1/4 tbs crushed red chili flakes

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir, set aside

Ingredients for toppings

-Two types of cheese (Indian pizza uses amul cheese found at the local Indian store  but you can substitute it for anything!)

-Your desired toppings, I used bell peppers, onions and corn

Ingredients for Dough

-2 cups pancake/waffle mix – this makes about 4 mini 6 inch pizzas

-1/4 – 1/2 cup water

-1 tbs olive oil

-2 tbs garlic powder

-1/4 tbs salt

-1 tbs crushed red chili flakes

-1 tbs onion powder

-1 tbs oregano

Instructions

  1. Pre heat oven to 375 deg
  2. Pour pancake mix and all dried seasonings into large bowl
  3. Slowly add in water (you may not use all of it) and mix ingredients until a solid dough has formed, you will need to kneed the dough for about 5-10 min to combine everything. If it feels too sticky you can always add in more pancake mix in small increments
  4. Once the dough ball has formed cover it with olive oil and kneed it for another minute
  5. Cover dough and set aside for 15 min
  6. After 15 min break dough apart into 4 small balls
  7. Dust a clean surface with some flour and roll out each ball into your desired size and shape, try to keep the crust about ½ inches thick
  8. Place the crusts onto a pizza pan and spray each crust with olive oil or cooking spray
  9. Using a fork poke some holes into the crust
  10. Bake the crust for 10 min or until golden brown
  11. Once the crust is ready, remove it from the oven and top with pizza sauce and toppings
  12. Add one of your cheeses and place the pizza back in the oven for another 3-5 min
  13. Top pizza with second cheese, and its ready to eat!

Tips

-The key to Indian pizza sauce is that it’s usually sweet, so you can add some brown sugar into your pizza sauce if you want!

-Amul cheese is the secret ingredient, but its hard to find without an Indian store. I like to use sharp white cheddar and Mozzarella instead.

-If you’re having trouble forming the dough remember to add water slowly, you can also use a kitchen aid mixer if you have one it makes the process much easier!
